My First Wacom Tablet Drawing

To be honest, I am a little bit of a nerd. I geek out over movies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

I got my Wacom tablet senior year of highschool. These devices allow you to draw digitally using what is essentially a large mousepad and an electronic pen.

I believe that one of the Lord of the Rings “Hobbit” movies had just come out, which must have inspired me to draw Gandalf, one of the main protagonists. This was the final product I created on Adobe Illustrator. Enjoy!

My Small Business

I started Reed Smith Portraits my senior year of highschool. A family friend asked me to draw a picture of their children so she could give it to her husband as a Christmas gift.

Since then, I have created dozens of portraits for hire. I have never actively advertised myself, but have been able to get a decent amount of jobs just through word of mouth.

Above are Georgia and Pumpkin, the dogs of a family friend. I created this portrait for them last Fall.

Wacom Tablets

Wacom makes some incredible digital design products. Their wide selection of tablets never cease to amaze me. These tablets range in size and quality, and are used worldwide for top quality design by leading creative artists.

I mainly enjoy the art that is created on them, but this is only one of their many design uses. This video shows one of their products, as well as a few applications of the tablet.

My Passion

Hello! On this blog I will be sharing my artistic work and interests. Since I was young, I have been in love with classic rock from the 60’s and 70’s. Some of my favorite artists include Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and many more.

This love of music has gone hand in hand with my passion for art. I have been drawing since a young age, and have progressively improved my skills throughout my years. Now, I create art as a hobby and love to draw portraits of some of music’s biggest personalities.

Pictured above is Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead. Stay tuned for more!
